Assam and Science Technology University entrance exam 2020: The Assam Science and Technology University, or ASTU, Guwahati, has released the application notification for the Joint MCA Entrance Examination (JMEE) and Joint Lateral Entry Examination (JLEE). Eligible candidates can apply online for admission to the Assam’s engineering colleges affiliated to the university till July 20. The JMEE and JLEE entrance examinations are scheduled to be conducted on August 23 between 11 AM to 2 PM.

The Joint MCA Entrance Examination, or The Assam Science and Technology University conducts Joint MCA Entrance Examination (JMEE), is conducted for admission to the university first semester of MCA and Joint Lateral Entry Examination(JLEE), for the third semester of BTech programme

General conditions Assam and Science Technology University:

Along with the application of Assam and Science Technology University’s Assam Joint Lateral Entry Examination(JLEE) and JMEE application form, candidates are to pay an amount of Rs 1000 online through debit card, credit card or net banking payment facility.
Upon JLEE & JMEE registration, an application number and a password will be generated. Candidates can use these for downloading their JLEE admit cards and JMEE admit cards from the Assam and Science Technology University Official website. The admit cards of the JLEE and JMEE entrance examinations will be available for download from August 18, 2020 to the date of examination.

Steps and precautions to be taken while filling the online application form :

A recent passport size colored photograph of the candidate should be uploaded in the Online Application Form. Size of the photograph must be less than 35 kb, height of the photograph between 250 pixel to 320 pixel and width of the photograph must be between 150 pixel to 220 pixel. Size of the signature must be less than 35kb, height of the signature must be between 100 pixels to 180 pixels and width of the signature must be between 150 pixels to 220 pixels.
Scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format (size between 4 kb to 30kb).
A valid e-mail Id.
A valid mobile number as all information about the JLEE and JMEE entrance exam via SMS will be sent to this number.
A valid debit/credit card or Net banking account for online fee payment.
No correction can be made at a later stage after the final submission of an application.
No change will be accepted via Post/Fax/ email / by hand etc. No change in the category will be entertained after the last date of JLEE-2020 application form and no subsequent change will be effective after declaration of JLEE -2020 Results.

Important Note for JMEE and JLEE entrance exams :

a) All the candidates who have submitted the online application and paid the examination fee till last date will be allowed to appear in JLEE 2020 and their admit cards will be uploaded on the website as per schedule. The Assam and Science Technology University neither verify the information filled by the candidates in the online application form nor verify any certificate of category/educational qualification for deciding the eligibility of candidates.
The candidates are, advised to ensure their eligibility and the category . The ASTU will, in no way, be responsible for any wrong/incorrect information furnished by the candidate(s) in their online application form. The letter/e-mails in this regard will not be entertained by the University.
Candidates are advised to report at the JMEE & JLEE Entrance Examination Center well in time i.e. 2 hours before the commencement of the examination.
Candidates can download their score/rank only from the website https://www.astu.ac.in. No score/rank card will be dispatched to the candidates.
Assam Science and Technology University will not conduct counselling of the JLEE 2020. The ASTU is authorized only to conduct the examination. However, candidates are advised to collect information regarding total no. of seats available in the institutions or the eligibility and reservation criteria etc. from the Director of Technical Education, Govt. of Assam, if required.
Reservations and guidelines of counselling will be as per the Govt of Assam rules and regulations.

Admit Card for Assam and Science Technology University entrance exam 2020:

The Candidate will be able to download his/her admit card from the Assam Science And Technology University
website www.astu.ac.in from AUGUST 18, 2020 onwards by entering his/her online
Application Form number/User name and Password.
The issue of E – Admit Card enables the candidate to appear in the Entrance Examination only and
does not imply that the candidate satisfies all the requirements to be eligible for
admission to the course for which the candidate has appeared in the examination. The
eligibility for the selection into a course shall be governed by the rules framed for
respective courses.

Medium of Entrance Test :

The question paper contains questions only in “English”.

Eligibility for Admission :

To be eligible for JMEE and JLEE Admission to any of the Colleges a candidate must fulfill the
following conditions: –
(a) Diploma of Minimum 3 years from any govt recognised Polytechnic
Institution.
(b) A minimum of Overall 45 percent marks (40% for SC/ST) must be scored in the
Polytechnic Course.
(c) Candidate must be a Permanent resident of the state of Assam.
Candidates appearing in their final examination also apply for the entrance exam but they must have to
produce their Original Mark sheet and Pass Certificate of the Final Diploma on
the day of Final Admission.

Age Limit:

The age should be in between 20 to 26 years as 01 July 2020 for JMEE & JLEE Entrance Exam

Fees Structure :

An Application Fee of Rs. 1000 is to be paid online through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking. Assam Science and Technology University shall not accept a hard copy of the Application form and any other documents. Examination fee once paid, not refundable.
